Buchner Tobacco issued a number of sets in the 1880's to 1890's and seemed to have somewhat of a penchant for policemen. No less than five of the fourteen Buchner sets include pictures of policemen--N281, N283, N284, N287 and N288. The N281 American Scenes with a Policemen contain nice artistic work of an American iconic spot along with a policeman in the picture. The cards are titled on the front with the characteristic Buchner redemption advertisement on the back.
This single N281 Buchner American Scenes with a Policeman is of the subject "Chain Bridge, Pittsburgh, PA" that is in VG to VGEX condition and mostly clean front and back. There is some very light chipping along the bottom border but it doesn't affect the overall aesthetics of this beautiful card.
