By 1974, Topps had issued (8) different Wacky Packages series of cards and were headed for (5) more in 1974. To capitalize on the popularity of these fictitious product stickers, they issued a set of (24) different cloth sew-on patches that pictured some of the more popular cards from the previously issued cards. The format left less than desirable patches due to the inability for minute detail on the patches. The issues didn't sell the best during the promotion.
The box in this lot is in MINT condition and contains two complete mint condition 1974 Topps Wacky Patches sets. The box opens up with the loose patches inside. The box also has a cardboard slipcover that slides off the outside of the box.
