Kinney Tobacco issued three different horse sets in a small format in the late 1880's to early 1890's. The N229 set were American horses, the N230 were English horses and the N231 set represented Great Trotting horses. The N230 cards as contained in this lot pictured English horses known for winning the bigger races in Europe--especially the English Derby.
This lot includes a single N229 Kinney Tobacco American Horse (Dew Drop) and a group of (6) N230 Kinney Tobacco British Horses to include the following subjects: Dead Heat, Macheath, George Frederick, Gladiateur, Cremorne and St. Blaise. The cards are in VG to VGEX condition with mostly clean backs. Two cards have light pencil writing on them and a single card has a dot of paper loss on the back.
