The 1972 Topps Presidents set is a (43) card set featuring all presidents from Washington through Richard Nixon. In addition to those (36) presidential cards, there are (7) candidate cards including George Wallace, Ted Kennedy, Edmund Muskey, George McGovern, Shirley Chisholm, Hubert Humphrey and John Lindsay. As we all know, Richard Nixon went on to win the presidency in 1972 but left in defeat after the Watergate scandal in August of 1974. In addition to the (43) cards, there were (16) campaign posters crafted for campaigns throughout the years. The cards are normal 2-1/2" by 3-1/2" sized and borrow many of the same images from the 1956 Topps series. The campaign posters are 5" by 7". The posters were folded into quarters and inserted in each package of the series.
This lot is for a pair of 1972 Topps Presidents Posters of the two keys to the set--John Kennedy and Abraham Lincoln. Both are in EX condition.
