This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/26/2022
The late 19th into early 20th century saw a proliferation of tobacco brands and companies. In an effort to keep consumers loyal, tobacco companies issued coupons in their products for smokers to save to redeem for all manner of items from baseballs to clocks to pipes to other household goods. Coupons can be found from most every tobacco company during the period of the 1880's all the way through the 1950's. The majority of truly collectible coupons are found in the 1880's through 1910's.
This coupon is from the American Tobacco Company and advertises what would be considered today to be a VERY controversial and derogatory brand towards African Americans. See the big scans front and back for the product name of this coupon. This coupon is in VG to VGEX condition and mostly clean with some wrinkling.
