The 1953 Topps World on Wheels set is one of the 4-5 most popular Topps sets of the early 1950's including Topps Wings and Rails and Sails. Popular with collectors, the set contains (160) cards that are relatively easy to find. In 1954 and in 1955, Topps added (10) cards to the set each year, with a final group of (10) high number cards that are extremely difficult to find. The final (10) cards can be found with either red or blue back printing.
This lot includes a complete "short" set of the first 160 cards from the 1953 Topps World on Wheels set and does not include any of the 1954/1955 additions nor any of the high series cards. This set is in mostly VG to EXMT condition, averaging VGEX to EX. There are a few better and a few worse cards in the set.
