This cabinet is one of many that Allen & Ginter used as point of sale advertising for their tobacco products, likely in the 1880's. Subjects included actors, women on bicycles, cigar making women, flags and government buildings among others. W.J. Florence (1831-1891) was an American actor, songwriter and playwright born of Irish descent. This cabinet was likely issued during the later part of Florence's life. It is of normal cabinet size about 4.5 by 6.5 inches. The front exhibits great photo clarity and the back is very clean. The cabinet advertises for Allen & Ginter's Richmond Straight Cut Cigarettes.
