Kinney Tobacco issued three different horse sets in a small format in the late 1880's to early 1890's. The N229 set were American horses, the N230 were English horses and the N231 set represented Great Trotting horses. The N230 cards as contained in this lot pictured English horses known for winning the bigger races in Europe--especially the English Derby.
This lot is for a near complete set of (24/25) cards from the N230 English Running Horses set from Kinney tobacco. The set is missing only the Bendigo subject to be complete. About 1/2 the cards have some level of sever condition issues with paper loss or corner missing or holes punched in them. The other 1/2 of the cards in the lot range from Good to VGEX, most of which fall into the VG range.
