Bob Lemke was the editor of the Krause Standard Catalog of Baseball Cards and a long-time hobbyist and contributor to all things cards. Although he spent most of his working career dealing with baseball cards, Bob also had a love for nonsports cards. At some point, Bob decided that there were many sets--both baseball and nonsports--that needed some updates. They were missing some cards that should have been in those sets. So Bob set out to create these additional cards. Bob created probably somewhere in the range of 200 different individual cards from both Baseball and Nonsports sets. The craftsmanship on these cards is, in some cases, as good as the originals. Bob sold the cards for $10 each shipped. Maybe a small discount for multiple purchases. He produced them on a VERY small scale--most cards having 10 copies or less. So they are a very scarce commodity overall.

This lot is for a group of (15) cards from the desk of Bob Lemke. These cards are 'extended' or collectors version cards for cards from the Topps Rails and Sails set. The cards are numbered between 201 and 213 and may be all the cards issued by Bob for Rails and Sails. Very interestingly, there are (3) Titanic Sails ships numbered 210 with three different variations. The craftsmanship on all these cards is just stunning. Until you hold these cards in your hands, you cannot imagine the quality of them. The cards are all in EXMT condition and very clean. Great opportunity to add some collector-made fantasy cards to that high grade 1953 Topps World on Wheels set.
