The N194 Kimball Tobacco Household Pets set is a (25) card set picturing animals that have apparently been domesticated in the 1880's to 1890's. Included in the Household Pets set are a billy goat, calf, fawn, horse, peacock, pigeon, pony and other animals not necessarily associated with being in one's house. Like many of the other Kimball sets, the color chromolithographed fronts are set against white backgrounds. The cards are oversized compared to the normal 19th century issues and were inserted into the larger packages of Kimball cigarettes.
This lot of (12) cards from the N194 Kimball Household Pets set are in clean VG to VGEX condition and represents almost 1/2 of a complete set. Eight of the (12) cards were previously graded by SGC and include the following subjects: Peacock (SGC35 Good+), Dove (SGC20 Fair), Rabbit (SGC50 VG-EX), Goldfish (SGC50 VG-EX), Fawn (SGC40 VG), Puppies (SGC40 VG), Lamb (SGC20 Fair) and Calf (SGC20 Fair). The ungraded cards average Fair to Good with some paper pulls on the back but clean fronts otherwise. Great lot of these difficult cards.
