The N420 Marburg Tobacco Seal of North Carolina Actresses classification is a catch-all classification of actresses from Marburg Tobacco from the late 19th century. The cards can be found in (6) different types from different branches of Marburg like Seal of North Carolina or Greenback Cut Plug and can be sized in various sizes. The N420-5 subseries of N420 is a slightly larger card picturing actresses with a captioned name on the front of the card. The cards measure 2-1/4" by 3-3/4".
This pair of N420 Marburg Seal of North Carolina Actresses are from two different types. Both are albumen photos of actresses--one seated and one with a tambourine and black dress. The seated actress card has the back with words and advertising. The woman with tambourine has the back with the graphic image of a package of tobacco. Both cards are in VGEX to EX condition.
