The N276 Climax Plug Tobacco series was issued by Lorillard Tobacco. It may be the only multi-subject real photo albumen type cards from the 1880's other than a small sub series of the N45 Virginia Brights set. The card pictures 10 subjects laid out in a 2x5 horizontal grid with one of three different ads on the back of the card. The cards can be found in a couple different sizes.
This lot includes a pair of N276 Climax Plug Tobacco cards. Both cards are in VGEX to EX condition. The smaller version has the Climax Plug back with red and black printing and includes mostly actresses with waist up photos including #21-#30 including Lillian Russell (#22). The larger version has just the Climax Plug one line back and #11 - #20 also with Lillian Russell but the actresses on this card generally are full body shots. In VG to VGEX condition, this card has clean front and back and the lot is great for the typecard collector.
