The R54 set is one of a number of strip sets issued in the 1930's. The Foreign Legion set was issued in 1939 and was issued in strips of 8 cards with a total of 6 strips comprising the set of 48 cards. The cards picture the exciting adventures of the Foreign Legion in bold, bright colors.

This near set of (41/48) cards features a dozen PSA-Graded cards and another 29 ungraded subjects. The missing cards are 346, 346, 349, 350, 351, 353, 354. The PSA-graded cards include the following numbers: 331(PSA4 VGEX), 333 (PSA3 VG), 347 (PSA4 VGEX), 348 (PSA6 EXMT), 352 (PSA1.5 Fair), 357 (PSA2 Good), 358 (PSA4 VGEX), 359 (PSA2 Good), 364 (PSA4 VGEX), 370 (PSA2 Good), 371 (PSA2 Good) and 372 (PSA1.5 Fair). The ungraded cards range from Poor to VGEX with most being GVG to VG.
