Civil War News set from Topps in 1962 is arguably one of the more iconic history sets Topps issued in the 1960's. The artwork is colorful and representative of the struggles of the U.S. Civil War. A.&B.C.--a United Kindom company--issued an (88) card set mirroring the U.S. Civil War News checklist in 1965 to UK collectors. The set is slightly smaller in stature at 3-3/16" wide by 2-1/4" high and the artwork is not nearly as clear as the Topps counterpart.
This complete set of A.&B.C. Civil War News is in mixed condition throughout with most cards falling into the VG to VGEX range. There are a number of cards in this set that have angle cuts and some with sizing issues which is common for the UK issue. The checklist is one of the cards with the angle/diamond cut but has not been checked and is in VG to VGEX condition otherwise. This set would make a welcome addition to any A.&B.C. Collection, foreign card collection or as a companion to a Topps version of this set.
