The 1951 Bowman Red Menace set was issued during the height of the Communist scare and pictured images that were supposed to ensure that Communism was demonized. The backs have the phrase "Children's Crusaide Against Communism". Number one cards from any of these sets are always more condition conscious as they were on top of the stacks and generally suffer from the ravages of time.
A pleasing, crease-free, evenly worn specimen of this difficult card. Tan back.
