The N375 Ellis Tobacco Breeds of Dogs series is a set of (25) cards issued by Ellis Tobacco with three different brands of their cigarettes--Triplex, Bengals Cheroots and Tiger cigarettes. The cards in the set can be found with bottom front advertising for each of these three brands offering up a total of (75) different variations for the set. Arguably the most beautiful dog cards of the 19th century tobacco cards, this set is very popular with collectors.
This lot of (5) N375 H. Ellis Breeds of Dogs cards includes (4) Bengal Cheroots (Newfoundland, Pug, Greyhound and Collie) and a single Tiger Cigrettes card (King Charles Spaniel). The cards are all in poor condition with obvious flaws but clean images and well-printed, clean backs. Most have pinholes or some other issue.
