Auction #8 - June 2021

The Duke N117 Industries of States series pictures women dressed in what appears to be Greek or Roman garb next to a shield for the respective state represented. Since the cards were likely issued in the late 1880's to early 1890's the scantily clad women with the occasional bare breast likely caused a stir. Many of the women sport a bare breast and little is done to cover them. The backs of the cards advertise Dukes Brands of Gail & Ax or Honest Long cut.
This lot of (4) cards are in mostly VG to VGEX condition and include the following subjects: Delaware, Maryland, Michigan and Pennsylvania. The Pennsylvania card appears to have been apart at one time and put back together, causing some rippling with a stain on the back.
