The N38 Allen & Ginter Birds of the Tropics set is the large sized companion to the smaller N5 set and contains (50) different tropical birds lithographed in beautiful color set against their natural habitats. The larger format cards were issued with the larger packages of Allen & Ginter cigarettes and contain the exact images from the N5 small set with additional lithography on either side of the card and an advertisement for Richmond Straight Cut cigarettes on the front of the card. The backs of the cards show the set title with an advertisement for Richmond Straight Cuts brand with a checklist of the (50) cards and the lithographer's name below Allen & Ginter on the back.
This lot is for a single N38 card of the subject Fiery-Tailed Sun Bird that has been graded by PSA as PSA7 or Near Mint. Of the 190 cards graded by PSA, only 16 have achieved a PSA7 NM grade with another 3 achieving a PSA8 NM-MT grade. This card is a POP1 with none higher card.
