The Ogden's Guinea Gold brand of cigarettes in the UK issued a number of card sets and series that number in the thousands. The cards are popular collectibles as most can be had for a few dollars here and there. There are, however, within some of the series, groups of cards that are much more valuable and single cards here and there that have somewhat of a cult like following. The Golfers and Boxers are always very popular and subjects like Sandow, Thomas Edison and others share popularity with collectors.
This lot is for a single 1901 Ogden's Ltd card of Colonel Baden-Powell from the Boer War "D" Base that has been graded PSA7 or NM. Colonel Robert Baden-Powell was a Boer War hero and best known for creating the Boy Scouts.
