The Pulver Gum company of Rochester, NY issued an interesting set in 1935 called Pulver pictures. The tagline on the back of "the greatest assortment of picture cards ever compiled" might have been a little braggadocios but it was an interesting choice of subjects for 1930's children's gum cards. The cards picture war and battle and generally focus on the weapons that were used in these battles. In the gun department, there are cards for hand guns, machine guns, anti-aircraft guns, Gatling guns and an ancient french mortar. There's even a card for short barrel gun on camel (#110). In the older weapon category, cards for the blunderbuss, antique cross bows, boomerang, trebouchet and broad swords exist. The cards have colorful fronts picturing soldiers, policemen and other combatants using the weapons described on the backs. The cards are numbered 100-129.
The condition breakdown of the set is as follows: EX (2 cards with 106, 126), VGEX (3 cards with 107, 108, 120), VG (11 cards with 100, 101, 104, 105, 113, 121, 122, 123, 124, 127, 128), Poor to Good (14 cards with 102, 103, 109, 110, 111, 112, 114, 115, 116, 117, 118, 119, 125, 129). The cards that fall into the lower condition do display okay, but mostly have 2-3 creases or more. The color on all card fronts is good.
