The 1933-34 National Chicle Sky Birds is one of the key sets of the Early Gum cards of the 1930's. Its beautiful art deco look along with important WWI flying subjects captured the imagination of the children of the day. The set, like many of the day was issued in sheets of 24 cards and series with back variations noting different numbers of series in the set. This method created a number of variations--some of which are difficult to find and create a good challenge for the variation collectors.
This complete set of (108) cards from the R136 National Chicle Sky Birds set are in generally Poor to EX condition, averaging GVG/VG. The high numbers are, on average, about a full grade less than the lower numbers. All cards are scanned front and back for wide format viewing.
Key cards in the set include #20 Rickenbacker (S48, VG/VGEX), #23 Von Richthofen (S48, VG), #36 Lindbergh(S48, VG), #48 Earhart (TOUGH S144, GVG/VG), #49 O. Wright (VG), #72 Spirit of St Louis (VG).
