The N83 Duke Tobacco Ocean and River Steamers is an ornate set of cards picturing boats that traveled up and down rivers of the U.S. moving both people and goods and helping build the early industrial economy of the U.S. By the 1880's, steamboats had enjoyed nearly a century of use around the world but were still an interesting enough subject to create a tobacco card set for. The size of the set, at 36 cards, is somewhat odd compared to the rest of the Duke sets, which mostly measure 25-50 cards.
The condition breakdown on this set is as follows: VGEX to EX condition (22 cards), VG to VG+ condition (12 cards) and GVG or less (2 cards). This is a turnkey set, in well above average condition that would be right at home in a very nice collection.
