The E3 Battleships set is one of many sets issued by American Caramel in the 1910 time frame. The cards picture Battleships, many of which were part of the White Squadron that saw action in the Spanish American War. The set has 21 subjects including the President's Yacht "Mayflower" This yacht belonged to President Roosevelt, Harding, Coolidge, Taft and Wilson used the ship for ceremonial purposes. It is likely that Taft was president when these sets were issued as his term ran from March 1909 to March 1913. He is pictured in the E6 Lauer & Suter Ruler's set which was issued around the same time. This set is one of the easier sets to complete of all the Early U.S. Candy and Gum or "E" series sets.
This card is in PSA VG-EX+ or 4.5 condition. This is an above-average example of this card.
