This phenomenal 1876 Centennial Cabinet photo pictures a composite photo of the first 18 U.S. Presidents from Washington to U.S. Grant. The photo was published by the National Copying Company. The central albumen image affixed to the mount measures approximately 10" tall by 16" wide. The inset photos of the individual presidents are organized by year of office from Washington to U.S. Grant and within the center of those 18 photos is a photo picturing the U.S. Capitol building. The preprinted mount also has the facsimile signatures of all 18 presidents directly below the row where they are pictured. The title on the lower part of the mount is "1776 - Centennial Exposition of American Presidents - 1876".
This photo is in nice overall condition with just some water staining along the top border and a couple water spots on the right border. The mount is in overall decent shape, however, and those spots could be matted out if framed. The back is blank but does have toning from nearly 150 years of existence. Overall, the photo is one of the nicer copies of this print that we have seen and would make a great addition to an advanced photo collection.
