The R43 American Mint Company set is one of the more oddball sets that were cataloged by Jefferson Burdick and added to the American Card Catalog. Although the entry in the ACC calls the set "Doughboys", the doughboys is but one subset of the larger set. The Doughboys number (20) tubes, Minute Men (10) tubes, Yankees (10) tubes and Troopers (10) tubes. The tubes are about 3 inches tall and constructed of thick cardboard with the slick character layer adhered to the outside of the tube. The top of the tube is a thinner cardboard type top that was obviously once adhered to the top of the tube. The (50) total tubes are tough to obtain and even tougher to complete the different subsets or the complete set.
This lot is for a single R43 American Mint Company Doughboy tube of the England subject. The tube is in about VGEX to EX condition and clean with the cap. Great lot for the type collector or someone working on the Doughboy subset.
