The N691 Old Fashion Fine Cut tobacco American Indians series is a series of (12) apparent subjects, picturing American Indians of the Wild West. One of the most frequent subjects covered throughout the tobacco era, the American Indians had mostly been relegated to Reservations by the date of these 19th and 20th century tobacco cards. The N691 series pictures famous indians such as Chief Joseph, Sitting Bull, War Eagle and other famous Indian chiefs of the day. The cards measure 1-7/8" by 3-3/8" and have dark black backs.
This lot is for a single N691 Old Fashion Fine Cut American Indian card picturing Chief Joseph. The card has a little nick in the upper right of the front on the photo face and a dot or two of paper loss on the back otherwise is in EX condition. These cards are particularly tough condition wise especially with the dark black backs and often faulty photo clarity. Great card for the type card collector or collector of the N691 series.
