The T229 Pet Cigarettes is a multi-sport card set primarily picturing boxers but also has aviators, cyclers and wrestlers. The set was issued sometime after the turn of the 20th century and is a very colorful series with biographical backs. The series was issued in California only and, as is the case with most of the other California-only issues, very difficult to locate.
This lot is for a single T229 Pet Cigarettes Sports Champions card picturing boxer Joe Thomas that has been graded PSA1.5 or Fair. The card suffers from creasing and just general surface wear but retains good coloring on the front and remains a very elusive card in any condition.
