The T229 Pet Cigarettes is a multi-sport card set primarily picturing boxers but also has aviators, cyclers and wrestlers. The set was issued sometime after the turn of the 20th century and is a very colorful series with biographical backs. The series was issued in California only and, as is the case with most of the other California-only issues, very difficult to locate.
This lot is for a single T229 Pet Cigarettes Sports Champions card picturing boxer Dick Hyland. The card has been graded PSA1 Poor and has a strong crease flowing top to bottom of the card right in the middle as well as some other creasing. There is, in addition, some staining on the back of the card.
