The T90 La Marquise Cigarettes Birds lot is one of the more interesting 20th century tobacco card series. The cards feature a number of birds from all over the world. The card stock is a white background with a crude line drawing of the bird set against some greenery. Those facts in and of themself don't lend to an "interesting" set. It's the fact that La Marquise had the cards made with a real bird feather attached to the body of the bird to give it a more realistic look. The cards are the only cards that have some type of actual animal product added to them from either the "N" or "T" classifications. They have no identifying marks on them as they were inserted into a glassine envelope with the La Marquise brand advertising. They are particularly difficult.
This lot is for a pair of T90 La Marquise birds to include the subjects: #4 Guinea Hen (Pinhole and creasing) and #16 American Robin (heavy creasing and surface wear). Great pair of these super tough cards.
