The Sunday Funnies have been, for over a century, a destination location of the Sunday Newspaper for pretty much everyone but children in particular. The comics in the Sunday Papers all over the US and the world offered an interesting look into the minds of the cartoonists and their daily and weekly exploits. The daily funnies were in black and white and were typically four box serials, while the Sunday funnies offered typically a pair of full newspaper pages or even a separate insert to the particularl newspaper. The funnies not only included the comic strips but often included some other type of graphic that could be clipped out and collected. Newspaper clippings offered the children of the 1930's a way to have a hobby during a period where money was extremely scarce. Albums are frequently found housing a valued newspaper clipping collection of a favorit sports team or favorite comics.
This lot is for a group of (118) Different 1930's Sundy Funnies Famous People/Flags/History newspaper "Cards". The "Cards" have been neatly cut out and represent images of presidents, writers, famous sites, inventors and explorers, famous scenes and many more. Most of the 'cards' are in VGEX to EX and cleanly cut and neatly adhered to album pages in groups of 9. Great lot. All pages have been scenned for easy viewing of the subjects.
