The R195 Shelby Gum set was issued by the Ohio gum company in the 1930's and is likely one of the more boring sets in the timeframe. The blank backed cards have a quiz question on the front with no graphics. The cards are particularly difficult to find and are often missing from even advanced typecard collections.
This R195 Shelby Gum Quiz card subject is Candy Cummings. Cummings was a famous 19th century baseball pitcher and is believed to have invented the curve ball. The card is numbered #20 and is in EX condition.
