The Mayfair company was a pretty prolific issuer of strip cards in the 1920's. The cards were typically point-of-sale advertising or premiums for likely buying candy. The Mayfair Nursery Rhymes set was a pretty common subject for strip cards of the 1920's. There are at least 2-3 different Nursery Rhyme sets and the subject was used on other trade cards of the day. The sheet contains the following subjects: Little Red Riding Hood, The Old Woman who Lived in the Shoe, Tom the Fiddler, Old Mother Hubbard, Old King Cole, Robin Red Breast, Stole a Pig and Away He Ran, Jack and Jill, Goosey Goosey Gander, Old Mother Goose, Tom the Piper's Son and The Old Mill.
The sheet is in overall G condition with a missing upper left piece but clean front and yellow hatchmark back.
