The N298 Mayo Cut Plug Actresses set is one of a number of sets that Mayo issued during the late 1880's to early 1890's. The set is one of (3) sets that Mayo crafted thathad deep black borders--N298 Actresses, N300 Baseball and N302 Football. Unlike the Baseball and Football sets, the N298 set has a white back that has blue printed advertising for Mayo Cut Plug tobacco. Unlike the N295 Mayo Actresses, the N298 Actresses are not named on the cards. The set is also a (25) card set and, with the black borders, are rarely found in high grade.
This lot of (10) N298 Mayo Cut Plug Actresses run from Poor to VG condition with most averaging G or worse. Still a good lot, representing around 40% of a complete set.
