The V254 Papoose Gum set was issued in Canada and contains 50 cards. The cards borrow the artwork from the wildly popular N2 Allen & Ginter cards from the 1880's but used reversed, embellished images. Scarves, feathers and other adornments are added to the original artwork as well as brightening the colors red and blue. The cards are formatted in a size more akin to the 1930's U.S. cards and were sold in wax packs.
This lot contains a very difficult wax pack wrapper for the V254 series. The wrapper is in VGEX to EX condition with no visible issues other than the normal fold lines associated to packages such as these.
