The N245 Kinney Sweet Caporal Actress set is one of the largest 19th century real photo sets that rivals only the Old Judge baseball set in terms of subjects and poses. The N245 set checklist is somewhere in the 2300-2400 range with some actresses having 10-15 poses or more. When you add in that there are back variations with the finnials that are used to break up the text, it is unlikely that the exact amount will ever be calculated but we would estimate it to be in the many thousands of possible combinations. A veritable treasure trove for the variation collectors out there. N245's are found in varying levels of condition from poor and up but the average lots are typically in VG to EX condition with varying photo quality and generally clear backs. With subjects like Lillian Russell, Sandra Bernhardt and Mary Anderson, the N245 set is a who's who of late 19th century actresses. The poses go from head shots to full length photos of anything from a dress to a more risque pose. There are a number of poses with interesting backdrops and props and there are a number of multiple subject poses. All in all a fun set to collect.

This lot includes a trio of N245 Kinney Sweet Caporal actress cards that have been graded by SGC as 84 or NM. Two cards have the horizontal advertising format on the back including Maude Adams and Wilson Barrett. The final card of the trio has the vertical advertising back and the subject is Violet Hazelton. Great group of highly graded cards from this massive series.
