The T331 Fatima Cigarettes College Pennant Stamps set is a series of stamps issued with Fatima cigarettes picturing pennants of well-known colleges of the day. They were issued around the 1915 timeframe and the artwork was also used for the Weber Bread set cataloged as D96. The stamps are perforated on the edges as a normal stamp would be and originally had both printing and a gummed back for adhering to something. Stamps of better known and collected schools like Notre Dame and Michigan will bring more than the more unknown schools like Antioch and CCNY.
This lot of 9 is in generally lower condition with some paper issues due to the extreme thin stock the stamps are printed on. The backs advertise for 150 designs. The stamps can be found from either Factory 25 of Virginia or Factory 42 of North Carolina. The subjects included in the lot are: Brown, CCNY, Chicago, Dartmouth, LaFayette, Lehigh, Norwich, Syracuse and West Point.
