Goudey or World Wide Gum issued the Jungle Gum set in 1930. The set is 48 cards issued in two series of 24. The first series is numbered 1-24, while the second series is skip numbered from 25-71. The cards picture wild animals typically in jungle settings and have colorful pastel-colored fronts with the characteristic Goudey green typeset backs.
This lot contains a wrapper from the R78 issue. The wrapper titles the set as "Jungle Gum" and is in a red, black and green color scheme with crude pictures of the animals on the side panels and a tiger chasing a zebra in the center panel of the wrapper.
The condition of the wrapper would be best described as poor to fair. There is a spot of paper loss in the field of the wrapper near the lower right part of the center image and the lower right corner is compromised as is a small 1/2" section of the upper border. Overall a presentable example until a better one appears.
