Fantastic metamorphic trade card from Lorillard that, when folded, appears to be a bank ledger or something similar. The piece is die cut and appears to have checks hanging out the inside of the booklet. When opened, you suddenly realize that it is not what it appears and is, however, an ad for Climax tobacco or as noted in the interior graphic "climb-axe", picturing a group of kittens climbing an axe. Trade cards and ephemera picturing money and checks and other items were very popular as advertising mediums back in the day and are still very collectible today.
This piece is in EX to EXMT conditiion, clean both sides and measures about 8x10 when fully opened.
