Benjamin Falk was a contemporary to Chickering, Sarony and Campbell. The Green '300' series of N566 Newsboy Tobacco cabinets were, in most cases, photographs by Falk and attributed as such. Falk was known for his intricate and interesting backdrops and doing action photos.
This lot includes (15) Cabinet Cards by Benjamin Falk--some of which were used in the N566 Newsboy Green mount series. The lot includes the following actors and actresses: Lillian Russell, Joseph Jefferson, Annie Pixley, Francis Wilson, Corinne, Marie Jansen, E.M. Bell, Robert Hilliard, E.H. Sothern, Nina Farrington, E. S. Willard, Amy Busby, Julia Marlowe and Lyla Kavenaugh. The photos in the lot that were used in the Newsboy series--along with their corresponding Newsboy number--include Kavenaugh (#317), Annie Pixley (#321), Lillian Russell (#332). Others may match but these are all we could find that were known matches.
