Napoleon Sarony was the preeminent Broadway Star photographer in New York City during the 1870's, 1880's and 1890's. Lillian Russell was one of the most famous stage stars of the late 19th century into the 20th century based on her looks and her voice.

This Sarony cabinet shows Lillian Russell in a characteristic bonnet and posed for the camera looking to the right of the stage. The use of light and shadows to frame just her face is a great example of Sarony's work.

The cabinet photo is in EX to EXMT condition with "Lillian Russell" written on the back. It does not appear to be her signature based on other autograph exemplars.
