In 1953 Topps issued a pair of Tarzan sets--Tarzan and the She-Devil and Tarzan's Savage Fury. Both were printed with the popular 3D technology and the cards came in packages with the cardboard 3D viewers. Tarzan was a popular subject with the kids of the early 1950's and Topps sought to capitalize on that. The character Tarzan of the Apes was created by famous writer Edgar Rice Burroughs and first appeared in 1912.

This set is a particularly clean VGEX to EXMT set, averaging about EX with just a couple in lower grade and a few higher graded ones. Four cards have been graded by PSA to include the following: #20 Over the Wall PSA5 EX, #24 Warning from Tarzan PSA4 VGEX, #27 The Laikopos are Trapped PSA5 EX and #46 Jane is Trapped PSA6 EXMT. In addition to the set, this lot also includes an 8x10 press photo of Tarzan, a clean, EX condition five cent wrapper and one of the 3D glasses.

Originating in the collection of a very advanced PSA collector, this set and a number of others in the auction are high mid-grade sets mostly free of creases and individually sleeved in semi-rigids housed in 4 pocket pages in binders. As with this set, many of the sets are mostly ungraded with some nice or key cards graded as noted.
