Auction #2 - June 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/23/2019
The F277-2 series of Heinz Airplanes is often called the Art Deco version of the F277-1 series due to the more crude pictures of the same subjects. The fronts and backs of the cards have the card number printed twice—on the bottom of the fronts and, in some cases, the top of the backs. In addition to the visual changes, in many instances, but not all, the planes are facing the opposite direction in the F277-2 series from the orientation of the F277-1 series. The F277-2 series is a tougher series to complete than the F277-1 and it also has the production codes on the back in the lower right corner.
This lot contains a pair of PSA8 NMMT cards from the Heinz Aviation F277-2 set. The #6 Douglass Amphibian card has the numbers on both the front and back and the #20 General Aviation G A-43 Transport card has the numbers on the front only. In addition, the lot contains the following F277-4 Heinz Aviators--all graded by PSA: PSA8 NMMT (3 cards: #5, 10 and 17), PSA7 NM (8 cards: #2, 9, 10, 11, 12, 16, 17 and 21), PSA6.5 EXMT+ (3 cards: #4, 16 and 17), PSA6 EXMT (12 cards: #2, 3, 7, 8, 13, 14, 16(2), 19, 22(2) and 23), PSA5 EX (4 cards: #1, 12, 15 and 25), PSA3 VG (1 card: #21), PSA2.5 GD+ (1 card: #1) and PSA2 GD (1 card: #7). Great lot of cards with some duplication.
