The N83 Duke Tobacco Ocean and River Steamers is an ornate set of cards picturing boats that traveled up and down rivers of the U.S. moving both people and goods and helping build the early industrial economy of the U.S. By the 1880's, steamboats had enjoyed nearly a century of use around the world but were still an interesting enough subject to create a tobacco card set for. The size of the set, at 36 cards, is somewhat odd compared to the rest of the Duke sets, which mostly measure 25-50 cards.
All (14) cards in this lot are in VGEX to EX condition and display very nicely. They would be a great addition to any midgrade set.
