The 1925 W504 Universal Toy and Novelty card set is a rare and distinctive series of (68) baseball strip cards produced by the Universal Toy & Novelty Manufacturing Company. Issued in uncut sheets, these black-and-white cards feature players from four prominent teams of the era: the Brooklyn Dodgers, New York Yankees, New York Giants, and Washington Senators. Each card displays a player's name, team, position, and birth year on the front, with blank backs. Notably, the set includes a Babe Ruth card, making it particularly valuable among collectors. Due to their hand-cut nature and the passage of time, these cards are scarce, especially in high-grade condition, and are considered a prized addition to pre-war baseball card collections. ?
This Lot of (16) 1925 W504 Universal Toy and Novelty Brooklyn Dodgers cards represents the complete set minus the larger format team card. The cards are mostly clean condition with some being cut a little tight. The lot includes Hall of Famers Burleigh Grimes, "Dazzy" Vance and Zack Wheat. These cards are rarely found so to find the entire Dodgers team intact in similar condition is a rare opportunity.
