Auction #5 - June 2020
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/28/2020
Like many of the tobacco cards of the 1910's, the T113 series can be collected in so many ways. Although the subjects in the set number only 50 cards, the backs of the card offer the collector an opportunity to collect a complete set of their favorite backs or to get typecards of all the backs or to collect a master set that numbers a couple thousand. The cards picture native-dressed people from (50) different countries around the world. Most commonly found with Recruit and Sub Rosa backs, the cards can be found with backs from other tobacco issuers like Jack Rose, Scrap Iron Scrap and backs that list multiple manufactures in different combinations and permutations.
This near set of the T113 Types of Nations set is missing only 5 cards to be complete. They are #30 New Zealand, #34 Poland, #35 Russia, #41 South Africa (Boer) and #45 Sweden. The cards are in mostly VG to EX condition with motst in VGEX condition. The near set contains a range of different back issuers but the majority are the red backed, 10 issuer backs. Nice start to a complete set.
