Phoenix Candy of Brooklyn NY issued a Fess Parker Candy and Toy box, seeking to capitalize on the Daniel Boone TV show. The show debuted on 9/24/1964 and made Fess Parker an instant star. Daniel Boone's coonskin cap became the "go-to" toy of the mid-1960's for boys who pretended to be folk hero in all types of adventures. The brown, black and white candy box had an offer on the back panel for kids to join the Trail Blazer's Club. On one end panel, another offer would see kids get a coonskin cap for an end flap from the candy box and $1.29.
This lot includes the mid-1960's Phoenix Candy Fess Parker candy box in Fair to Good condition but intact. In addition to the box, the lot includes the coonskin cap--available for the $1.29 and box end flap. The cap is in VG condition and has an attached label that mirrors much of the artwork of the box. Just a fantastic 1960's piece of Americana and rarely seen together pair of collectibles.
