This is an interesting advertising trade card from Allen & Ginter to promote their Richmond Straight Cut brand. They use composite advertising similar to the Kinney and Duke Novelties pieces. The subjects of these novelty pieces are different, however. This particular card pictures seven different novelties on the front along with the A&G Planter figure in the lower left. It is from a series of trade cards. The card measures 5" by 8".
There is some flaking of the top surface on the front of the card and some scrapbook pieces adhered to the back of the card. Still a very scarce piece from one of the most prolific advertisers of the 19th century tobacco era.
