The N192 Kimball Beautiful Bathers set is one of a few different card sets picturing women in beach bathing attire of the day. The cards have different beach names on them and represent an early look at figures which could be considered slightly controversial in the late 1880's. The N192 series is the larger format companion to the N187 Fancy Bathers series of (50) cards. Only (20) cards were included in the larger format series which were inserted into larger packages of cigarettes by W.S. Kimball.
This lot is for a complete set of N192 Kimball Tobacco Beautiful Bathers. Rarely seen as a set, this set is in a pleasing VG to VGEX condition with a few worse and a few better. Two cards have significant condition problems: Livorno (bottom 1/2" trimmed from the card to include the title) and Ostende (surface wear eliminating much of the card title). The rest of the cards are relatively uniform without a great deal of creasing and the backs are mostly clean with only some light wear on a small number. All card fronts and backs have been scanned.
