The T77 Hassan Lighthouse Series is a (50) card set of Lighthouses from all over the US. The cards are a popular subject and the artwork on them is very nice. Before the advent of radar and sonar, lighthouses all across the world helped guide ships safely into harbor. This set was issued sometime in the early 1910's and is one of a number of sets that Hassan issued during this period.
This lot contains (3) proof cards from the T77 Lighthouse set. The backs are blank and the front have the characteristic proof hatch marks on the side borders. The tagline "Copyright 1910 by Amer. Tob. Co." can be found in the lower left border of the proof cards. This tagline is not available on the finished cards in the T77 set. It is rare to find proof cards of this vintage.
