In addition to the tobacco albums, the Coffee companie of Arbuckle's and Woolson Spice issued albums during the late 19th century as premiums to the smaller cards that were issued with and in their products. The album redemptions fostered a loyalty to the brand. Arbuckle's coffee issued three different albums as companions to their series of rectangular cards that were issued in coffee cans.
The K17 Arbuckle's Illustrated Album of Natural History is the companion album to the K1 card set of the same name. The artwork featured on the sets are beautiful individual scenes of animals typically found in tropical settings and in Africa.
This copy of the K17 Arbuckle's coffee album suffers cover issues most noticeably on the back cover where a good portion of the cover is missing and has been separated from the spine. The front cover has some creasing and a small piece or two missing but is intact and held onto the album with the original string binding. The album offers a good opportunity to fill a hole until a better condition copy comes along.
